The Senator representing Lagos West senatorial, Sen. Solomon Adeola, has debunked the story insinuating that he would no longer run or may not run for the Ogun State governor position in 2019.
Adeola, popularly called Yayi, said that he remained fully committed to contest the race, saying he would never disappoint his Ogun State peoples’ earnest wish for him to succeed the incumbent.
Reacting to stories of his Second Town Hall Meeting and Empowerment Programme where he briefed his constituents on his stewardship in the last two years, Sen. Adeola stated that at no point did he say that he was no longer running in the race that he is easily the frontrunner stressing that his briefing to his Lagos West constituents was to prepare their minds for the eventual official declaration to run in Ogun state Governorship race in 2019.
The senator had told his Lagos West constituents that “I do not take your generosity and magnanimity lightly and I hope I have not disappointed in these public offices that you entrusted in me through your mandate. But as the saying goes, “Ile la bo Isimi oko” and my dear people from Ogun State are earnestly yearning for my service as I have demonstrated here in the only “Centre of Excellence” in Nigeria.”
Senator Adeola said that as a grassroots politician who believe in the power of the people to decide, he will continue his widespread consultation and will officially make a public declaration of his intention to run for the seat of Governor in Ogun State very soon adding that unofficially my dear people in Ogun state believes that I am the aspirant to beat in Ogun 2019.
