The organizing committee of Nollywood’s end of the year prize giving award ceremony, BON AWARDS, has named Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, Deputy Governor, Ogun State as the headliner for BON Children Reading 2017, scheduled to take place Monday, September 4.
In a press statement, the CEO of BON AWARDS, Seun Oloketuyi, named Belinda Effah, Doris Simenon, Femi Branch, Yomi Fabiyi, among others as stars that shall join the deputy governor to read to the school kids.
“BON Awards 2017 is gradually shaping up. We are delighted to announce that Chief Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, Deputy Governor of our host state, Ogun, shall lead our Nollywood stars to meet and greet school children and also in our yearly tradition, read a novel to school children.
“The text book that has been selected for the occasion is ‘NO! DON’T TOUCH ME THERE’, by Nomith Odukoya. It is a book on gender disparity and sex education in a manner kids can relate to.”
Oloketuyi believes BON Reading is a Cooperate Social Responsibility for his organization, as it shall help children in their formative years make a decision to become significant people in the society.
“BON Reading is a very vital part of our event yearly. Apart from the glitz and glamour of the Awards ceremony, BON Reading avails us the opportunity to impact the lives of children in their formative years. BON reading is a Cooperate Social Responsibility for us at BON.” He remarked.
BON Awards shall hold in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Saturday, December 16, this announcement made following a recent presentation of the hosting right to Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Governor of the State, at his Oke Mosan office.
