Last Friday, I had the privilege of serving as a panelist at the Southwest Youth Summit 3.0 in Osogbo, Osun State. The event, organized by the South West Youths Summit group led by Olumide Fasubaa, brought together esteemed dignitaries, youth groups, students, and young entrepreneurs.
During my address, I stressed the importance of sustainability in education, emphasizing the need for extensive training for teachers across primary and secondary school levels in Nigeria. I also advocated for reliable power supply through solar energy and provision of essential resources like internet services and accessible computers. This, I believe, will make learning more accessible, efficient, and enable us to compete globally in the ever-evolving technological landscape.
I echoed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s message of hope, urging other Southwest states to follow his lead in reviving tech hubs at the university level. This, I believe, will foster innovation and progress throughout the state, and also address the technological needs of primary, secondary, and tertiary schools.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Hon. Olagunju, Commissioner for Youth Development; Hon. Abiola Awoyeye, Member of Osun State House of Assembly; and Hon. Dr. Abolarin Kasope Ajibade, Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on SDG, among others.
The summit was a testament to the power of collective action and the importance of empowering young people to drive sustainable development and education reforms.
