The Jigawa State police command arrested and paraded one Mamman Rabi’u Babaruof Habatsa of Gagarawa local government who killed his wife Lamura Rabi’u and buried her in a shallow grave in a nearby forest two years after committing the crime.
Parading the suspected murderer among other criminals the Jigawa State police commissioner, Mr Bala Zama Senchi said: “the suspected murderer, Mamman Rabi’u had been arrested two years after he committed the offence”.
“When he killed her, he informed the deceased (his wife) parent that their daughter is missing. The parent did not inform the police. Fortunately, on 20th of this month, the elder brother of late Lamura sighted the cloth of his sister in a shallow grave and reported to the police. The police arrested the husband in the course of an investigation the suspect confessed to have killed the victim with a stick by hitting her on head severally on her head in the bush as a result of a quarrel between him and the deceased”.
“We also arrested one Sunusi Muhd 35 years old of Kazaure town who was impersonated as the Chief protocol of the president Muhammad Buhari, Alhaji Lawal Abdu Kazaure.
Senchi said the suspects in collaboration with one Salim Jibrin of Kano dupped three unsuspecting people the sum of N297,000 deceived them to give them employment in Abuja.
The police boss explained that “the suspects forged and issued appointment letters of different government agencies namely the Department of the State Security (DSS), Cooperate Affairs Commission and Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the victims”.
According to the police commissioner “exhibits recovered are the fake appointment letters, computer set and Sims cards used by the suspect in communicating. The case is under investigation”.
Mr Bala Zama added that the police arrested paraded by the police in the state headquarters includes a 45 years old Adamu Sule an armed robbery suspect, Yunusa Nasiru 37 years, Musa Umar 37 years and Uzairu Ahmed 35 year for housebreaking, theft and receiving stolen properties.
