The Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) has commiserated with Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, over the demise of his younger brother, Sani Dangote.
The deceased, who was the Vice President of Dangote Group, passed away on Sunday after a protracted illness in the United States.
In a statement on Monday, SDNON paid tribute to the late Sani, praying God for the repose of his soul.
The group also urged Alhaji Dangote to accept the demise of his sibling as the will of God, assuring him of the support of SDNON and all Nigerians at this difficult moment.
The statement signed by Mr Gbolahan Adetayo, spokesperson for the group, read, “SDNON will like to join millions of people across the world to commiserate with Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and the entire members of the family on the death of Alhaji Sani Dangote.
“We understand the pain of the family over the loss at the moment. It is indeed a great loss not just to the Dangote family but to Nigeria as a country.
“We ask God to grant the deceased mercy and forgive him of all his shortcomings.
“We stand with the family in prayer and assure them of the support of SDNON and indeed all Nigerians at this time.”
A respected businessman, the late Sani had vast investments in manufacturing, agriculture, banking and oil services.
He sat on the Board of several companies including the Nigerian Textile Mills Plc, Nutra Sweet Limited, Gum Arabic Limited, Dangote Textile Mills Limited, Alsan Insurance Brokers, Dan-Hydro Company Limited, Dansa Food Processing Company Limited and Dangote Farms Limited.
