Efforts to cover the commissioning of the Kaduna Inland Dry port turned bloody as a correspondent of the news agency of Nigeria, (NAN) Taye Enebiyo almost lost her eyes.
Trouble started when journalists rushed to the down quarters, Kaduna in Kaduna South Local Government Area ahead of the presidential entourage from Rigasa train terminal, where the 10 coaches were being Commissioned.
The security agencies at the main gate of the complex prevented newsmen from entering.
The operatives demanded for accreditation before allowing any journalist into the venue.
Journalists from Kaduna where trying to explain that there was no accreditation for the commissioning when those from Abuja arrived.
Since they were with tags, they demanded to enter the venue, but the operatives comprising of Police, MOPOL, soldiers, SSS, changed tactics and said they was no space inside.
In the ensuing argument, a MOPOL officer simply identified as Afolanyan came from nowhere and used his police hand – glove to lash at the Correspondent on her face.
The red cross is still treating the lady as at the time of filing the report.
