Babajide Otitoju Responds To Senator Osinowo’s Spiritual Message Of Death To His Colleagues In The Senate
“And of course, my dear colleague we are here to thank God. This is not our birthday but our first year in the Senate. We must continue to thank God. Many never witness ten years, which of the blessings of your Lord are you going to deny? Afterall, many of our Prophets lived only 33 years and 60 years. We even live more than the Prophets, so which of the blessings of your Lord are you going to deny?On this note, I am begging we should continue thanking God in our lives. Death is inevitable, it will come but of a sudden. What I am saying is that we must prepare, let our righteous good deeds be more than our bad deeds”.
“For my colleagues who said the good ones or the bad ones-whether good or bad ones, we are not the “Maliki yao mi deen” meaning human beings don’t have supremacy over the day of judgement. Good or bad- we are not the judge. I know those who are good would not sleep perpetually and those who are bad would not sleep perpetually”.
Babajide Otitoju’s response(Journalist Hangout, 16th June 2020) to Late Senator Bayo Osinowo’s spiritual message on the floor of the upper chamber is:
I know he was a very religious man who never joke with his prayer and a devoted Muslim.I wasn’t surprised he was speaking in that way because the more spiritual you are, the more you realize the inevitability of death and the more you prepare for it. And just prepare that whenever or the places your maker is ready to take you, you are ready. And he was speaking like someone who knew his own death could come at anytime. And that is a lesson, we should all be prepared for the inevitability of death. We could sleep at anytime and not wake up. It is not a strange thing anymore for young people to die. Death is a common thing. We should prepare for it.This is a big message he dropped for his colleagues in the Senate to learn from.
It would be recalled that Late Senator Bayo Osinowo philanthropic nature was reflected in the number of people who trooped in to his house on hearing his death and series of lamentations seen from mourners.
Note:Late Bayo Osinowo’s statement above was a speech he gave on the floor of the Senate in celebration of his one year in the Senate.
Indeed, Late Senator Osinowo speech was a thought-provoking speech which explains simplicity of life and death.
Worthy of note also is the fact late Bayo Osinowo preached to his Senate colleagues weeks ago using a verse of the Holy Quran found in Qur’an 56(Ar’ Ro’amon) in which the verse he chose to preach appears more than five times in the said Chapter, which simply translates to ‘So which of the blessings of your Lord can you deny?’Absolutely none of it can be denied.
Senator Bayo Osinowo’s body was committed to mother’s earth yesterday in his home town of Ijebu Ode according to Islamic rites.
