Governorship Candidate Osagie Ize-Iyanmu has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress Primary Election for the Edo State Governorship Election, after defeating all the contenders like Pius Odubu (a one-time deputy governor of the Edo State under the administration of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole) and Osaro Obaeze (the youngest amongst all the aspirants), all among the others like Godwin Obaseki and three others who were disqualified before the screening.
After been announced as the winner, Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyanmu granted an interview with reporters from different news platform. During this interview, he says the All Progressives Congress has the plan of bringing everyone back to the party. He says that he wants to salute his elder brother, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent Governor of Edo State who was disqualified from the primary election which Mr. Ize-Iyanmu finally emerges as winner, to come back to the party.
Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyanmu says disagreement is inevitable in every family but no family member must leave the family because of the disagreement. He says that he knows that his brother, Obaseki defects to another party out of annoyance but, it is better for him to come back to the party.
He says that from the little experience that he has, it is not a very good decision to switch political alliance. He claims that Governor Obaseki is known as a leader in the All Progressives Congress but he will just be an ordinary member in the new party.
