The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar,’ has been selected to host the Lagos State flag-off ceremony of the second round of the 2024 Maternal, Newborn, Child & Adolescent Health Plus Nutrition (MNCAH+N) Week. The event, scheduled for Monday, 16th December 2024, at 9 a.m., will take place at the soon-to-be-commissioned Somolu Local Government Administrative Complex.
Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, First Lady of Lagos State, will preside over the ceremony, recognizing Somolu for its unwavering commitment to improving women’s and children’s health. The MNCAH+N Week, running statewide from December 16 to 20, will provide quality preventive health interventions to enhance wellbeing and promote better health-seeking behaviors.
The event will gather at least 400 women and children, 100 adolescents, and community leaders, including the Chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon. Alabi Kolade David. The week’s activities aim to deliver impactful, cost-effective healthcare, with data captured by state and federal health authorities.
Preparations are in full swing, with the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Ladi Omifare, and the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Abidemi Agboola, spearheading efforts under the Chairman’s supervision.
Hon. Salawu expressed pride in hosting this pivotal event, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to community health and development.
