There is some serious breaking legal news coming from her camp. On Friday, Cardi B was indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges related to the alleged strip club brawl that made headlines last year.
Here’s a refresher: Cardi allegedly attacked two sisters—Jade and Baddi Gi—who were bartending at a Queens nightclub, reportedly because she suspected one of them was having an affair with her husband, Offset. NBC News reports that Cardi was caught on camera throwing an ice bucket at them.
Cardi was originally arrested in October over this, but now, TMZ reports that a grand jury has indicted her on 14 charges related to the alleged incident. The charges include two counts of felony assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.
Initially, Cardi B was only charged with two misdemeanors (assault and reckless endangerment), but she rejected a plea deal. Now, Cardi is set to be arraigned on June 25.
For what it’s worth, the bartenders have denied sleeping with Offset, and it’s still a little unclear just how this fight got started. Before that alleged August incident, Cardi B allegedly ordered five people to show up to the strip club to fight Jade. That fight allegedly involved “grabbing Jade’s hair, punching her, and hitting her with an ashtray.”
