Acclaimed Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo has arrested two soldiers and two civilians for allegedly spying on him.
In an online video on Friday, the two soldiers were seen being accused of having been sent by the government to do a ‘survey’ of Sunday Igboho’s Soka residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He alleged that the action of the government could be the result of comments he made a few days ago alleging that Yoruba’s are no longer a part of Nigeria.
In the video posted by his spokesperson, Olayiwola Koiki, through his Facebook page, said the soldiers denied the allegation as they claimed they were on a bike to a different destination when they saw the two civilians fighting and tried to separate them.
Speaking, Sunday Igboho described the two civilians as bastards of the Yoruba race, saying “you will all finish”.
“If you want to prove anything, it should not be to me Igboho. You are bastards among Yorubas. If not, they would not have sent you to me. And I promise you will finish. I will finish you,” Sunday Igboho said angrily.
The four arrested persons were asked to kneel by Igboho’s supporters, who made attempts to assault them.
Igboho, who stopped his people from assaulting the soldiers and the two young men, however, handed them over to the police, who drove them away in their vehicle.
In his words, Koiki wondered why the military men left their Alakia barrack to pass through Soka, where Sunday Igboho’s house is located.
He alleged that the Federal Government sponsored the military men to spy on Igboho.
“This indicates that the threat to Chief Sunday Igboho is still very high. What are military men on a bike searching for? We are calling on the Federal Government to tread softly with their military and the civilians they placed around Sunday Igboho’s house,” Koiki said.
