Thierry Henry, Arsenal football legend and ex-France international was on Sunday crowned the ‘Igwe of football’ at an event in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Henry is in Lagos for the Guinness Made of Black programme to meet the ‘Be a Front Row Fan’ winners; a consumer promotion of the company.
Clad in the attire of an Igbo chief, Henry was unveiled as an ambassador for the Made of Black campaign.
The Frenchman also watched the West Brom v Manchester United EPL game at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Apart from receiving the honorary title, the 40-year-old Frenchman who retired from football in 2014, also partook in the cooking of jollof rice.
