President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Alfred Abah as the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Service Matters.
This historic appointment marks the first time such a role has been created within the Nigerian Civil Service, signifying a commitment to advancing reforms within the sector.
A statement from Eno Olotu, Director of Press at the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, praised the appointment, with the Head of Civil Service, Didi Walson-Jack, thanking the President for this strategic decision.
Walson-Jack emphasised that the creation of this role is a key part of Tinubu’s efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the civil service.
Alfred Abah, a retired director of the Federal Civil Service, brings over 30 years of experience in public administration.
His expertise and strong reputation for integrity make him well-suited to this new role. He is expected to drive reforms that will further boost the confidence of Nigerians in public service.
The Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda has already resulted in significant progress in civil service reforms, and Abah’s appointment is seen as a continuation of these efforts to foster good governance and public service excellence.
