President Bola Tinubu has sworn in eight permanent secretaries and 18 commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission
President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in eight new Federal Permanent Secretaries, marking the beginning of their tenure in government service.
The swearing-in ceremony took place just before the year’s first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja.
The ceremony commenced with introductory remarks by the State House Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Abiodun Oladunjoye.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries include Onwusoro Ihemelandu (Abia State), Ndiomu Philip (Bayelsa State), Anuma Nlia (Ebonyi State), and Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu State).
Others are Usman Aminu (Kebbi State), Oyekunle Nwakuso (Rivers State), Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna State), and Kalba Usman (Gombe State).
In addition to the permanent secretaries, President Tinubu also administered the oath of office to 18 new Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
This follows his initial appointment of 21 commissioners in August 2024, pending Senate confirmation.
The newly sworn-in commissioners include Linda Oti (Abia), Akpan Effiong (Akwa Ibom), Enefe Ekene (Anambra), Prof. Steve Ugba (Benue), Chief Eyonsa (Cross River), Aruviere Egharhevwe (Delta), Nduka Awuregu (Ebonyi), Victor Eboigbe (Edo), Wumi Ogunlola (Ekiti), and Ozo Obodougo (Enugu). Others are Kabir Mashi (Katsina), Adamu Fanda (Kano), Dr Kunle Wright (Lagos), Aliyu Abdulkadir (Nasarawa), Bako Shetima (Niger), Samuel Durojaye (Ogun), Nathaniel Adejutelegan (Ondo), Saad Ibrahim (Plateau), Modu-Aji Juluri (Yobe), Bello Garba (Zamfara), and Mohammed Usman (Gombe).
Additionally, Kayode Oladele was sworn in as a Commissioner for the Federal Character Commission, while Victoria Iyatan was appointed as a member of the National Population Commission.
The Federal Executive Council also resumed its meetings after a six-week recess. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, had earlier announced that the council would take a break from December 18, 2024, to January 6, 2025.
During the meeting, the Council observed a minute’s silence in honour of Lt. Gen Jeremiah Useni, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, who passed away on 23 January 2025.
