After spending three years in prison, the fraud case of actress Toyin Abraham’s ex lover, Seun Egbegbe has finally being remembered.
New reports say the Federal High Court in Lagos will on October 6 hear no-case submissions in the alleged fraud case involving Seun Egbegbe.
Kem Filani News recalls that Seun Egbegbe was accused of scamming no fewer than 30 bureau de change operators in Lagos of various sums both in local and foreign currencies between 2015 and 2017, put at a total sum of N39, 098,100, $90,000 and £12,550.
Seun was first arraigned in February 2017 before Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo.
He has been in the prison custody since that time due to inability to meet the N5 million bail granted him by the court.
His co-defendants on 40-count charge include Oyekan Ayomide, Lawal Kareem, Olalekan Yusuf and Muyideen Shoyombo.
Police accused Seun of defrauding the BDC operators mostly by falsely representing to the victims that he had foreign currencies to sell to or buy from them.
Following the close of the prosecution’s case, all the defendants, except Egbegbe, who is having difficulty paying legal fees, filed no-case submissions.
The defendants prayed the court to dismiss the charges on the ground that the police prosecutor Innocent Anyigor failed to establish a prima facie case or prove the charges against them.
The court will hear the no-case arguments on October 6.
Meanwhile, Toyin Abraham has come out to say she regret ever dating him. While speaking with Channels TV Rubbin Minds, Toyin went emotional saying she regrets ever having anything to do with him.
And since then, the “Alakada” producer has moved on with her life (No time for drama i guess). She is now HAPPILY married to Kolawole Oluwasegun Ajeyemi, and they have a son together, named Ire!
