Residents of Ogbomoso seem to have had enough of the serious danger the road linking Oyo to Ogbomoso poses to human lives and have decided to embark on a protest to force the government to take action.<\/p>\n
According to a release signed by Akinwole Akinwale, the people of the area claim that the situation of the road has become a shadow of its pride and embarrassment to the country as a whole.<\/p>\n

“Setting the record straight,” he said, “the road has turned into a deathtrap where many lives are lost on daily basis.”<\/p>\n
Akinwale lamented that a day doesn’t pass without an record of fatal accident.<\/p>\n
Aside from this, he claimed that the economic value to the people are being reduced due to the danger posed by the road and thereby discouraging traders plying it.<\/p>\n
“As we all know that good roads are good for all. They improve safety, reduce cost, increase economic activity and enhance economic development. All these are responsible in creating and sustaining private-sector jobs. But what happened if we have a bad road?<\/p>\n
“Therefore, the leadership of Ogbomoso North local Government has thrown its weight behind the protest and appeal to protesters to remain focus.”<\/p>\n
Akinwale further claimed that the secretary of the council has urged the organizer to be very careful and cautious to prevent unscrupulous element hijack their motive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
